Overview
Trip overview
A quick summary of the route, support level, and the main things travelers should know before booking.
12 days Everest Base Camp Trek is a special itinerary, designed for those customers looking to step on the foot of the Mt. Everest and explore the natural and cultural attractions of the Khumbu region, en route to the base camp of the Mt Everest, in less than two weeks time. Along with the base camp of Mount Everest, this trek presents other attractions: Kala Patthar (5,545m), Sagarmatha National Park, view of three additional towering peaks (Mt Makalu, Mt. Lhotse and Mt. Cho Oyu) of the world and the lovely settlement of the Sherpa people in the villages like Namche Bazaar, Phakding, Tengboche and Dingboche, where the trekker gets a very good opportunity to get close to both natural attractions of the Khumbu region and the lifestyle and culture of legendary Sherpas.
This special 12 day Everest Base Camp Hike package includes full board (meal and accommodation) during the trek along with the flight ticket to and from Lukla. Accommodation is arranged in guest houses and lodges (run by local Sherpa people) that provide basic amenities. Breakfast and dinner are served in the accommodation itself; however, the lunch is served from a teahouse menu. Both Nepali and Western food (subject to availability) is served during the trek. The package also includes free map. The package can be customized to your requirements with special group discount. The trek starts with a flight to Lukla and ends with a scenic flight back to Kathmandu.
The Everest Base Camp hiking, as agreed by even the most veteran trekkers, is a difficult trek and the dicey weather adds further complications if not planned at the right time of the year. March-May and September to Novermber are the best months to plan this trek considering the weather, temperature, visibility and the trail. Anyone having strong mental and physical determination can plan this trek.
However, if you are interested in adding a little luxury to this trip and finishing the entire trip (arrival-departure) in 12 days, then you will definitely be interested in our 12 days Everest Base Camp Deluxe Trek with Helicopter ride. Or, if you are looking for a budget option our 12 days Everest Base Camp Budget Trek might be of interest to you.
