A quick summary of the route, support level, and the main things travelers should know before booking.
Pumori (7161m), the mountain in the Mahalangur section of the Himalayas, on the Nepal-Tibet border is one of the very famous seven-thousanders in the world. Located 8 kilometers west of Mt. Everest, this pyramid shaped mountain’s summit presents the mind blowing view of Tibet, Nepal, Everest, Lhotse and other peaks in the upper Khumbu region of Nepal. Pumori (meaning “Unmarried Daughter” in the Sherpa language) as named by George Leigh Mallory is also famous as Everest’s Daughter”. First climbed on May 17, 1962 by Gerhard Lenser, a member of the German-Swiss expedition, Pumori now is also famous as a training peak, before climbing Everest.
The Pumori Expedition: This expedition in total is a 37 day expedition, in which 18 days are set aside to climb the mountain. The expedition begins with a flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. Trekking from Lukla to the base camp of Pumori requires about 9 days. The climbing day starts from day 12 and the next 18 days we will be spent climbing Pumori. Starting base camp at 5,300m, above Gorak Shep at the base of Kala Patthar, we climb the mountain from the South-East Ridge. 3 camps: camp 1 at 5700m, camp 2 at 6200m and camp 3 at 6480m will be set above the base camp. From the base camp to Camp I the route passes through the glaciers, from Camp I to Camp II is a 40-60 climb on a snow wall, camp II to camp III is through the ice walls and crevasses. From camp III, passing through the crevasses we climb up to the Pumori cliff and then, finally ascent the summit. Climbing Pumori also requires a lot of technical climbing. The view of Nepal, Tibet, Everest and other surrounding peaks are simply marvelous.

Everest Base Camp Trek
★★★★★
WOW, Where do I start? I have wanted to do this trek for about 30 years, so when we decided to book we compared many trekking companies to decide who to go with and #AmigoTrekking scored the best and they certainly lived up to expectations. We had an amazing journey far better than our wildest dreams. There were a few reasons why our trip was so good and here's why. Prior to the Journey: AMIGO Trekking were so professional prior to the journey, answering my numerous emails in the leadup in regards to gear requirements, weight of rental gear and logistics. We communicated with Niti regularly and she always got back to me within 24 hours. This is very important when trying to plan such a trip. Amigo and Niti were also the only company that effortlessly accommodated our desire to extend our stay in Tengboche to attend the festival at the monastery. (November) Once we arrived: We were greeted at the airport by a very friendly and professional mountain guide 'Hari Adhikari' who immediately helped us navigate our exit from the airport making a very chaotic situation easy. We felt like royalty. Little did we know at that point just how much this one man would shape our trek into the amazing journey it became. For the next 14 days Hari was by our side perfectly pacesetting our speed for success. He steered us to quality tea houses with the best food for breaks, negotiated the best rooms for us every night and even showed us the best spots for pictures along the way. His experience and cheery disposition was very visible with every interaction he had. He seemed to be best friends with every guide, porter and tea house owner we passed. Hence we nicknamed him 'Happy Hari'. No task was too big or small and he made a point of letting us know where he'd be every night (his room number, tent or dining room) in case we needed him. He was not only the main reason for our successful completion of the Trek, but added many enjoyable moments for us as well. If you are lucky enough to have Hari as your guide, make sure you take a pack of UNO cards with you. Hari loves the game! Along with Hari we were also lucky to have on our team an amazing young man Chandra (Sandra) who was our super human porter. He too always wore a smile, even when lugging our bags over rock after rock! Thanks mate, we don't know how you do it. If we can impart one thing we've learned that will make your Trek in Nepal memorable. It's go with Amigo and insist on Hari and Chandra. You won't regret it! Thanks guys, we are forever grateful.
