Langtang Valley is well-known for its easy trails and picturesque natural beauty. The valley, in addition to the vibrant Tibetan and Tamang hamlets, provides a relaxing experience for trekkers of all ages. Similarly, the Panch Pokhari Lake System on the journey provides a surreal view of the Langtang and Dorje Lakpa ranges. The Tilman Pass (5320m) is the highest point on the trip and is located on a relatively unknown trekking trail in the Langtang region.

Our adventure begins with a drive from Kathmandu to Chautara. The trek begins with visits to Sano Okhareni and Kami Kharka on our way to Pauwa Bas. We make our way to Nosyampati through the lush green forests. After arriving at the holy pilgrimage site of Panch Pokhari, we take a day off to acclimate before continuing to the Intermediary Camp. We hike to Tin Pokhari before heading to High South Camp. The following day, you will cross the Tilman Pass (5320m), which provides breathtaking views of the Langtang and Gaurishankar ranges. We take a day off at Kyanjin Gompa after dropping down from the High North camp.
Following the banks of the Langtang River, the final leg of our journey takes us to Ghodatabela before arriving in Sybrubensi.
If you want to attempt the Tilman Pass Trek, make sure to thoroughly check the weather conditions. Trekking in September, October, and November are ideal, as long as you avoid the rainy months of June and July.

During the day, we will head over to the office of the Nepal Tourism Board to make sure we gather all the required permits for the travel. We begin our journey by heading east on the Araniko Highway, passing through Bhaktapur and the city of Bhaktapur. We pass through the vibrant towns of Banepa and Dhulikhel, enjoying the pleasant hilly landscapes. The trail ascends north on the Dolalghat- Chautara Highway past the confluence of the Indrawati and Sun Koshi Rivers, heading for Chautara for the night. On the first day of the trek, we begin our journey heading towards Sano Okhareni for the night. The journey is a pleasant one as we follow the lush green forests toward Bhirkuna and Gaurati. Enjoying the hilly landscapes, the journey takes us to Syaule Danda beyond which lies Syaule Bazaar. Making a brief stop at the hamlet, we begin our final stretch of the trek ascending towards Sano Okhareni. Exiting Sano Okhareni, we begin our ascending run heading towards Kami Kharka. The journey follows the lush green forests past Chhiku and towards Phusre. A brief stop at Phusre and we are ready to continue our trek. The final stretch of the trek takes us on a descending run through pasturelands to reach Kami Kharka. Exiting Kami Kharka, we pass by a series of waterfalls before entering the lush green forests following the Himalayan landscapes further north. The next stretch of the journey takes us in the company of Langtang Lirung (7,227m) and Dorje Lakpa (6,966m) as we pass by the vibrant hamlets en route. Passing through the lush green forests, you might get to see a wide variety of wildlife including mountain deer, Langur, red pandas, and other animal species. One of the more uninhabited sections of the trek, we begin our ascent up the hill heading towards our camp at Hille Bhanjyang (3720m). Throughout the day, you will pass by a cluster of nomadic settlements inhabited by cow herders. Alongside the company of the stunning Jugal Himal Range, we follow the lush green forests steeply up the pass. The final stretch of the trek is a descending one as we make our way down the hill and towards Hille Bhanjyang. Exiting Hille Bhanjyang, we begin a strenuous ascent heading towards a hilly summit. Passing through the pine and rhododendron forests, we reach the hill summit before descending towards our camp at Nosyampati. The hamlet has a couple of houses for accommodating pilgrims on their way to Panch Pokhari with mesmerizing views of the Langtang Range. Heading past Nosyampati, we begin our journey following the rugged Himalayan trail towards Panch Pokhari. Gradually navigating along the rugged trails, we make our way to the religious site of Panch Pokhari. The name Panch Pokhari translates to five lakes and represents a series of lakes high up in the Himalayas. A secluded religious site up in the Himalayas the sacred lake is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva and Basuki Nag. The region also hosts a festival on the occasion of Janai Purnima which falls around late August. On the first of our acclimatization days, today, we take some time off at Panch Pokhari making sure our bodies are well adapted to the increasing altitudes. Located at the foot of the Jugal Himal (6,070m), the religious site is frequented by pilgrims of both Buddhist and Hindu religions. Taking in the beautiful views of Langtang and Jugal ranges, we make our way up the hill for better views and acclimatization. Wrapping up the things at Intermediary Camp, we begin our ascending journey through the loose Himalayan trail towards Tin Pokhari. Trekking through uninhabited lands, we get to witness the astonishing beauty of the Langtang Lirung (7,227m), Langshisha Ri (6560m), Dorje Lakpa (6,966m), and Shishapangma (8,013m) among others. The name Tin Pokhari translates to three lakes which also describes the cluster of the lake up here in the Himalayas. During winter, these lakes tend to remain frozen offering a completely different experience altogether. Past the Himalayan camp at Tin Pokhari, the journey continues to climb steadily heading past the moraines of the Langshisha Glacier. Enjoying the Himalayan views of the Langtang Range, we head north to reach the High South Camp. At an altitude of 4,867m, the High South Camp lies at the foot of Tilman Pass and offers glorious Himalayan views all around. Overnight at High South Camp. One of the tougher sections of the trek, we exit the High South Camp and ascend towards the Tilman Pass (5,320m). The journey climbs past the rocky Himalayan trail and heads north through the glacial moraines to reach the summit of Tilman Pass. After a strenuous climb, a stunning Himalayan panorama awaits us from the summits of Langshisha Ri (6,560m), Langtang Lirung (7,227m), and Dorje Lakpa (6,966m) to the north. The descending journey takes us over to the High North Camp at an altitude of 4,720m where we spend the night. The final stretch of the trek finds the lush green forests taking us back to the pleasant hilly landscapes. For the final of our rest days today we take some time off at the hamlet of Kyanjin exploring the local monastery while also learning more about the culture and local way of life. The local monastery at Kyanjin is one of the oldest in the region and offers us a chance to learn more about the local culture and unique way of life. Primarily inhabited by Tibetans, the local culture also resembles the Tibetan way of life with its roots firmly dipped into the teachings of Buddhism. The journey is a pleasant one as we continue our journey following the banks of the Langtang River heading past the quaint settlement of Old Syabru. In the final stretch of the trek, we continue through the pleasant trails in the Langtang National Park to reach Sybrubensi located just beyond the confluence of Langtang and Trishuli rivers. The journey begins early as we follow the Trishuli River out of the town. Headed north, the journey takes us on the winding bends of Trishuli Highway and heads south.
